Samira Farouk, MD, MS, FASN knows that having “open, clear, transparent” communication is a crucial part of educating patients on their care options, while taking their personal health goals into consideration. Making sure transplant options are widely understood is a crucial component in the campaign to Unite 4 Kidney Health.
“Many of our transplant patients have other complex medical problems, and many of them are so surprisingly positive about it. It’s inspiring and is one of the reasons why I chose to go into nephrology,” says Andrew F. Malone, MD, MBChB, FASN. Hear his story.
